Green Options has been working closely with Liverpool City Council on the exciting project of bringing the Liverpool Animal Shelter (formerly known as Renbury Farm Animal Shelter) back into operation.
The South Western Sydney facility sadly ceased operation last year, so we were excited to partner with Liverpool City Council to breath some new life back into the old animal shelter.
Our team worked extremely hard to revive the turf, garden, and dam areas on the 3 acre property from the moment we first arrived in January through to May when the shelter held its official Open Day. A number of improvements have been made throughout the site including the turf maintenance (transforming the overgrown turf areas, home to many local snakes, into manicured lawns), garden renovation, dam clean up, and landscape construction works, such as a newly installed granite footpath.
Our staff had to be extremely cautious when we started work due to local snakes claiming the site as their home. But don’t worry, all of our staff are trained in snake awareness and took the appropriate steps to carry out the job safely
The day was a huge success, the council were extremely happy with the results, the site looked incredible and hundreds of visitors turned up to enjoy the opening day. The day was full of fun with events such as trainer Kelly Gill at the shelter entertaining guests with the talented Wonder Dogs (border collies) performing tricks and much more.
The open day gave visitors a chance to see the new updated facility and the opportunity to adopt a new pet. A number of happy visitors went home with a new cat or puppy to call their own.
We are so proud to have partnered with Liverpool City Council to provide our landscaping expertise in such a great project that will allow the surrounding communities an opportunity to give these animals a new home.
